Brackley Wind Ensemble was formed in 2004 as a result of an offshoot of Brackley Music School. We perform a wide variety of music, from Baroque music to traditional classical pieces by Mozart and Beethoven, through to more 'contemporary' works such as music by the Beatles and modern film music.
We hold concerts for charities, perform at garden parties and fundraise for our chosen charity for the year.
In addition to concerts on our own, we occasionally feature guest players of non-wind instruments, such as Frances Randall, the cellist.
We have players from Brackley, Banbury, Towcester, Buckingham and surrounding villages. Our music covers a vast range, so there is something for everyone, from popular well known pieces such as Cantina Band (from Star wars) and the Band of Brothers theme tune, to well-loved classical pieces such as Handel's Water Music.
Whether modern or traditional, the pieces that we play are well suited to a wind ensemble and are both fun to play and to listen to.
